Green Hammerton C.E. School is a primary, co-educational day school for children from 4 to 11 years old.

It is a Controlled school, maintained by North Yorkshire County Council.

The original brick and sandstone classroom was built and administered by the Church of England in 1874.
Over the years additional accommodation has been added and there are now three classrooms, a spacious hall and the usual offices.

The school has its own website which can be found at

The school has a very active committee of parents which fosters and encourages close co-operation between parents, teachers and the village community.

During the year a number of popular fund raising and social functions are held, such as coffee mornings, themed evenings and a Summer barbecue.
The Friends of Green Hammerton School (FOGHS) is a valuable means of raising money for extra equipment such as computers, PE apparatus, books and play equipment.

New members and volunteers are always welcome.

News and Events from both the school and FOGHS can be found on this site in the News and Events sections.
