The proposal for the safe cycle track to Thorpe Underwood has been published. The one-mile cycleway will be called the Hammerton Greenway and will run from the bottom of the Green. It will have an all-weather surface suitable for cyclists, walkers, buggies and wheelchairs. Local families feature in the proposal, talking about their hopes for safe cycling from the village. The cost is estimated to come in under £60,000, and Brian Martin of Queen Ethelburga’s School has already pledged the first funding towards the project.
A new page has been set up on the village website giving full details of the proposal. Click HERE to visit the new page.
