Kids2Dance has been created by Katie Louise Turner, a full time dance teacher from Leeds. Katie has spent the last decade working with babies and children in a mixture of dance and educational settings.
Miss Katie runs a successful Dance School based in Leeds within easy reach from Tadcaster, Wetherby and York. With over 90 children competing in national competitions and achieving grades in all genres of dance. There are many reasons why the Katie Louise School of Dance has earned it’s great reputation.
Miss Katie strongly believes that having danced from a young age herself has allowed her to realise her own potential and in turn help others achieve theirs. She is extremely passionate about dance which is obvious from the minute the children meet her. It is through both her own experience and excellent knowledge of child development and inclusive learning that this new dance venture has been born. Created in such a unique way, there are no other dance and movement classes like the ones on offer through Kids2Dance. Katie’s knowledge of the Early Years Educational Framework has enabled her to incorporate each learning area into all the Kids2Dance sessions. Challenging children’s physical and academic growth simultaneously is a great way to prepare for both school and their life long learning. As more and more knowledge is gained on child development and weight, government advice is that babies, ‘must exercise regularly’ to fight obesity.
Classes start on the 7th May in Kirk Hammerton Village Hall at 12.30 and will take place every week!
