This year we are flying poppy flags at the hall and our coffee morning event on the 10th November will be supporting the poppy campaign so please make this event a special in your diary. It will be different in a number of ways. The tea and coffees or juice will be unlimited for a one off payment of £2.50 adults and £1 children and includes a slice of cake, clearly will benefit those who get there early and stay!
There will be a raffle so any related prizes as well as home baked tasty cakes will be greatly appreciated
The hall will be decorated and we will hopefully if it goes in (!) have on show in the hall a jeep and memorabilia. Relevant music and pictures or film showing
If you have anything you would like to share please will you bring it along or contact me before the day
The coffee morning and book sale runs on a monthly basis on the second Saturday of each month. Doors are open from 10am til midday.
The purpose of the coffee mornings is for people from the village and surrounding villages to socialise in an informal atmosphere, and rummage through a few books as well. Any profit we make goes towards the running of the coffee mornings and the village hall (Green Hammerton Recreational Charity).
Adult books cost 50p and Children’s 20p. There is also a raffle.
Some Saturdays organisations such as the WI, school, church, and cricket club also run the mornings as a fund-raising event.
If you are interested in taking on a Saturday morning as a fund-raiser (we provide all the books) please contact:
Annabelle or Tom Polito on: 01423 331993
We are always looking for new books, although hard-back books are not always welcome as these are heavy, and do not stack (or sell) very well.
