A huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who took part in last Sunday’s event – I hope you all enjoyed it and felt it was worthwhile from a personal viewpoint. From what I saw, there was certainly no shortage of very saleable items to be had. It was clear from the activity around the village that the publicity had been very effective and ‘word of mouth’ amongst the dedicated car booters and sales fanatics in the region had played an important part! And the weather certainly didn’t do us any harm!
Total revenue in Green Hammerton, including table ‘ fees ‘, map sales and refreshments came to £420, an excellent result, which combined with the income from Whixley raised over £1000 for the work of the church in our Parish.
Sincere thanks also go to everyone who helped in any way – putting up signs, providing delicious cakes and tray bakes, setting up and serving refreshments (a special thank you to Helena Leather for organising this as well as running her own ‘table’). The ‘café’ certainly did a very brisk trade during the morning and the customers were very generous with their donations.
We’d be grateful for any feedback from residents as to whether they would like to do it all again in future and how it could perhaps be improved, but in the meanwhile, once again our sincere thanks to everyone for making it such a successful event.
